A group of global automakers announced their intentions to strengthen cooperation with LG Group. Germany's Mercedes-Benz Daimler AG chairman Dieter Zetsche said in his press talk at the Detroit Motor Show which opened on January 12, "We are developing a new camera in collaboration with LG Electronics. We will expand the scope of the partnership depending on the success of the joint development."
LG Electronics recently signed a memorandum with the Germany premier car maker to jointly develop stereo camera systems.
Another global carmaker GM also revealed that it is maintaining a solid partnership with LG Chem since they jointly developed batteries.
GM officials also noted that chances are that it will expand the scope of cooperation with LG towards other electronic system areas, stressing that LG Chem is one of its best partners.
