Under the terms of the agreement, LG U+ and Nokia will cooperate to develop new services such as LTE-based services and ultra-high quality contents, as well as to take the initiative in a next-generation ICT ecosystem, including the virtualization-based network.
The two parties will jointly research the LTE-A and 5G network technologies and how to realize the efficient evolution from LTE to 5G.
In particular, to introduce next-generation network technologies, the two parties will jointly carry out research and product development projects ranging from the verification of new technologies to in-lab tests and commercial network testing.
An LG U+ official said, “The strategic partnership with Nokia would clear the way for us to secure core 5G network technologies more quickly.”
