Mobile shopping transactions ballooned sharply in the fourth quarter of last year,with its share in total online shopping transactions rising to near 40 percent.
Over the past one or two years, mobile shopping transactions are estimated to have overtaken desktop-based Internet shopping transactions.
According to the online shopping trend report released by the National Statistical Office on January 29, online shopping transactions amounted to 12.74 trillion won in the fourth quarter of last year, of which mobile shopping accounted for 4.87 trillion won, up 107 percent from a year ago.
