
Samsung Electronics held the North America Dealer Summit in the United States and stepped up efforts to gain a larger share in the North American TV market by using a string of new models, including SUHD TVs.
The North America Dealer Summit was held on March 2-5 at the Hilton Hotel in Orlando, Florida, attended by about 500 participants, including 230 major clients.
Samsung displayed a variety of new strategic models, including 105, 88, 78, 65-inch SUHD TVs and 78, 65, 55-inch curved UHD TVs.
According to market research firm NPD, Samsung Electronics gained a share of 51 percent in the North American UHD TV market in January 2015. This was the tenth straight month for Samsung to achieve higher than the 50-percent market share there.
Samsung’s share in the North American flat panel TV market stood at 36.4 percent last year. On a full year basis, Samsung had a share of 59.7 percent in the UHD TV market last year, up more than 20 percentage points from 38.4 percent a year ago.
