
Daum Kakao announced on April 9 that its mobile content platform “Kakao Page” achieved sales of 18 billion won last year and 7 billion won in the first quarter of this year. Daum Kakao revealed that Kakao Page enjoyed a robust growth of 140 percent in sales per quarter since it was launched on April 9, 2013.
The first-quarter sales represented a four-fold growth compared to a year ago. Along with the rapid growth in sales, the number of Kakao Page users also marked a 3.7-fold growth in the first quarter of this year compared to a year before. The number of its cumulative subscribers passed 6.3 million.
Over the past two years, Kakao Page users actively consumed pay-based contents. During this period, they spent a total of 70 million hours and made 120 million visits to read 38 billion pages.
To celebrate its second anniversary, Kakao Page plans to provide various gifts to those who use its for-fee service during the period from April 14 to 30.
