Samsung Electronics said on Wednesday that its POWERbot VR9000 robot vacuum has received a perfect score (10 points) from a US consumer electronics review website, Reviewed.com (a division of The USA Today), thus winning the Editors' Choice Award.
“Advances like laser-guided spot cleaning and camera-aided room-mapping make the VR9000 more sophisticated than many of its competitor,” said Reviewed.com. Reviewed.com also spoke highly of its dirt bin (0.7 liters), way bigger than any other on the market, and its wide brush (similar to those found on full-sized vacuums).
Among other unique features, pointed out by Reviewed.com, were the Point Cleaning™ tool (a little laser pointer that directs the VR9000 wherever you command it); scheduling options; and its large Easy Pass™ wheels (which measure 105㎜ in diameter).
As regards mobility, Reviewed.com also tested whether the VR9000 could get over a threshold or uneven floors and transition from a hardwood floor onto carpeting and back onto hardwood again without a hitch. The VR9000 also passed the test with flying colors.
