ITC 2009 – the 8th Incheon International Information Technology Communication 2009 (http://www.itc.or.kr) is being held at Songdo Convensia, Incheon City, Korea for 4 days from Aug. 26 until 29 with the catch phrase “Experiencing Tomorrow Today 2009.” Approximately more than 350 domestic and foreign companies in the field of IT participated in ITC 2009 and will help to show many interesting exhibitions and events including IT-related products and technology.
The opening ceremony of the 8th ITC 2009 was held in the first-floor lobby in Songdo Convensia with the Incheon IT Technology Awards. The Incheon IT Technology Awards were held in advance with 3 winners in the field of IT and 2 winners in the field of BI. Kortek won the grand prize in the field of IT for its product, a Multi Layer Display (MLD), a real 3D impact monitor. The gold prize winner in the field of IT was LEO Tech Co., Ltd for its Integration Automatic Meter Reading System which calculates and inspects meters automatically. Another gold prize winner in the field of IT was Acewavetech Co., Ltd for its product, the PA-GSM / WiMAX Inter-Modulation Distortion (PIMD) Analyzer. JMD Engineering won a grand prize in the field of BI for its software, the Marvel Shop, a 2D and 3D automatic steel solution. Hyundai Digitech ITS won a gold prize in the field of BI for its DSRC ASIC MCU, a semiconductor chip for highway toll cards.
During the opening ceremony Lee Chang-gu, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs, said, “I think ITC 2009 is great opportunity for us to introduce potential power of Incheon Metropolitan city to the world-wide as Incheon is fast becoming one of the major cities in Asia”, in his greeting speech. “I hope that every one of you from in and out of Korea will be able to find what you are looking for and activate business as there are a lot of innovative technologies and products showing and providing their information here in ITC 2009.” Lee Sang-jin, Director of the Software Promotion Division at the Ministry of Knowledge Economy said in a congratulatory message. The Organizing Committee of ITC 2009 led a brief introduction about the exhibition and Job Fair of ITC 2009 after they celebrated the opening of ITC 2009 in a tape-cutting ceremony.
