It’s been ages since LG introduced its last Windows Phone, but after much ado, it seems the Korean company will finally unveil a new device with Microsoft’s mobile operating system onboard. The device, which was spotted by Windows Central, is referred to as the LG Lancet in a leaked brochure.
The Lancet is hardly the high-spec Windows Phone that everyone’s waiting for ahead of the Windows 10 launch, but it does appear to be another budget-friendly, entry-level device for Microsoft’s OS. According to the leaked brochure, the Lancet will likely sport a 4.5-inch TFT screen with a mere 854 x 480 pixel resolution. There could be an 8-megapixel camera on the back of the phone and a wimpy VGA camera on the front side.

The decent 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1 GB of RAM may power the device, which comes with 8GB of internal storage that’s expandable with a MicroSD card. The ability to add more storage to the phone is even more important in this case because just 4GB of space is likely to be useable, the brochure says. A 2,100mAh battery should keep the Lancet running for a sensible amount of time, especially since the screen has a low resolution.
LG is expected to include several of its cool software tricks on the Lancet, including Knock On’s double tap to wake feature, QuickMemo for notes, Gesture Shot for capturing selfies, Soft Light for selfies, and Live Shot. The low-end Windows Phone could arrive at Verizon relatively soon, though no release date or price were revealed in the leaked information. Given the basic specs, the Lancet will probably cost less than Microsoft’s recently released Lumia 640, which will be around $260 when it comes to the U.S. this summer.
