A report from Ubergizmo.com indicates that Tesla CEO Elon Musk sees Apple's potential presence in the electric car market as a very good thing for the industry.
“I actually hope Apple gets into the car business, that would be great,” he said in response to an analyst who wondered if Tesla feared that Apple could somehow threaten its business model.
As for a hiring war between the two giants, Musk doesn't seem to be worried at all, claiming that his company has managed to lure five times more engineers away from Apple than Apple has with Tesla employees.
The Apple car is rumoured to launch by 2020, although no confirmation has been given yet.
