Former kpop girl group ‘Sugar’-turned-actress Hwang Jung-eum (30) broke up with her long time boyfriend Kim Yong-joon of SG Wannabe.
The couple started their relationship in 2006 and strengthened their position as the model couple in the Korean entertainment industry. The two starred in MBC 'We Got Married' in 2009 as the first real-life couple and received much love from the public.
Both side’s rep stated on the 15th, “The two have decided to remain as friends after 10 years of relationship. Although they decided to go separate ways, they are maintaining good relationship as friends.”
A day before the couple’s break up news, Park Soo-jin, Hwang’s former teammate of ‘Sugar’, announced to marry actor Bae Yong-joon which drew more attention to Hwang and Kim’s potential marriage.
Hwang Jung-eum debuted in 2004 as a member of Sugar and made a career change as an actress. She starred in multiple hits including 'High Kick Through The Roof', 'Secret' and 'Kill Me Heal Me'.
Kim Yong-joon made a debut as SG Wannabe in 2004 and released many hits like ‘As I Live’, ‘Sin and Punishment’ and ‘My Partner’. The team had a long hiatus to fulfill their military duty and recently signed up a contract with CJ E&M.
