Ssangyong Motor announced on May 22 that it will make forays into Turkey’s SUV market and participate in the Istanbul Motor Show.
Ssangyong Motor made an official launch of its compact SUV Tivoli at the Istanbul Motor Show 2015 which opened at the Tuyap Convention Center in Istanbul on May 21.
With the booth space of 703 square meters, Ssangyong Motor displayed a total of 11 brand-new models, including Tivoli, Rexton W, Korando Turismo, and Korando Sports.
The car maker plans to leverage the motor show as an opportunity to kick-start the official sales of Tivoli there after establishing sales networks covering the entire regions of the country.
Ssangyong Motor intends to market the 1.6-liter gasoline model first and will add diesel and 4WD models later. Turkey’s automobile market is forecast to grow by 10 percent this year. In particular, the SUV-B segment of the Turkish automobile market is likely to expand by 80 percent.
