AMD Korea and NHN Games announced that they made an agreement on technical and strategic cooperation in order to visualize higher quality graphics for C9, a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) created and released by NHN recently.
According to officials, NHN is planning to apply Tessellation into C9's graphics system. Tessellation, a high-end technology developed by AMD, visualizes high-end realistic graphics and displays faster 3D animation performance by dividing faces into even smaller pieces. Officials of AMD expected that it will be used in a lot of fields especially for games that are scheduled to be released in the near future as it is officially supported by the newest version of Microsoft DirectX 11 in Windows 7.
AMD provides the information of the recommended PC requirements to play C9 and promotes events for the gamers who purchase it through online stores. In keeping with that, NHN also plans to choose the PC platforms based on AMD as the C9's standard hardware and place the AMD's logo into the C9 so that gamers automatically choose AMD processors and ATI Radeon Graphic Drivers for their next PC.
"The C9 is one of most advanced games that include a mixture of Action and RPG with instanced dungeons proposed. We have closely been cooperating with AMD since pre-production periods to develop high-end realistic games. So, I'm sure that gamers who play C9 will fully be able to enjoy it," NHN President Kim said.
Meanwhile, AMD and NHN are increasing their brand image value and market shares with continuous cooperation.
