Korea’s smartphone consumers are turned out to be satisfied most with Apple’s iPhone, according to a local mobile consumer trend report by market research firm Consumer Insight on June 18.
Consumer Insight has issued the report twice a year since 2005. In the latter half of last year, Apple scored 759 points in the category of product satisfaction, followed by LG Electronics with 611, and Samsung Electronics and Pantech with 580.
The product satisfaction score is measured with a group of local consumers who purchased their smartphones in the past six months. The perfect score is 1,000 points, based on consumers’ satisfaction level in the areas of product performance, functionality, and design.
Apple has kept the No. 1 spot since the first half of 2011 and, thereafter, has widened its lead every time it released new models.
In contrast, Samsung Electronics, which ranked No. 1 in the second half of 2010 with 684 scores, remained No. 2 until the second half of 2012 and was overtaken by LG in the first half of 2013.
