LG Electronics’ 55-inch OLED TV is welcoming the visitors to the Hagia Sophia Museum, one of Turkey’s proud cultural heritages.
LG announced on June 22 that it has donated three OLED TVs as a display medium to show off Turkey’s history, religion, arts, and culture. About 5 million visitors have already seen information through LG’s OLED TVs.
According to LG Electronics, Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism selected the LG OLED TV as the best display to show the artistic value of Turkish culture.
Hagia Sophia was built as a Christian church by Constantius II of the Byzantium Empire in 360 CE. After being used as an imperial mosque during the Ottomans Empire, Hagia Sophia was designated as a national museum starting from 1935 under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
The museum was designated as a UNESCO global cultural heritage in 1985 in high recognition of its historic value which features the combination of Christian, Islamic, Asian and Western cultures.
