Hanshin Engineering & Construction said on June 22 that it won an order to build a wastewater treatment center in Hue in central Vietnam.
Commissioned by the Hue City Water Environment Improvement Project Management Unit, the project is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, with Swing Corp. of Japan as a project partner.
The total price tag of the project is 63.0 billion won (US$57.3 million) with Hanshin's share amounting to 38.0 billion won ($34.6 million). The project calls for building a wastewater treatment facility (a daily processing capacity of 30,000 cubic meters), a main pumping station, six water catchment areas, and a 2,600-meter connecting pipeline. The length of the construction will last 33 months and the contractors will be responsible for repair and maintenance for two years after completion.
With the latest contract, Hanshin E&C has landed four overseas orders totaling 131.8 billion won this year, including a road construction project in Cambodia financed by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (45.6 billion won), the Trung Hoa Interchange project with a funding from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (21.3 billion won), and the Vam Cong Bridge project funded by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (26.9 billion won).
