In the first half of this year, the most searched word on Google Korea was “Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).” Google Korea revealed on June 29 “the most searched words for the first half of this year.”

Following MERS were “Lee Tae-Im/Ye Won” a conflict between two famous female entertainers, and You Seung-Ok who gained popularity with intense workout and diet regimen.

Ranking No. 4 was a film titled “Lost Flower: Eo Woo-Dong” which shed light on the issue of screen monopolization by large film distributors.
The fifth most searched word was “ttaltongbeop,” a new word coined to make fun of the government’s obscene online material control act.

Following them were the animation “Turning Mecard,” the Asian Cup, the IS (Islamic State), Lee Se-Ryung, director of Daesang Group who turned out to date with a famous actor Lee Jung-Jae, and KBS drama “Producer.”
