The Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) displays digital threads which is the core technique of smart clothing. Digital thread consists of 3~7 pieces of 10μm diameter copper filaments.
KITECH twists and widens copper conductors which reduces its diameter to improve pliability so it can be used for clothing.
It conducted a miniature thin-film and plastic coating at the center of copper to prevent harmful electromagnetic waves.
In addition, this digital thread has 80Mbps/s transmission speed so that it can download a 700mb movie in only 80 seconds.
