Cheil Worldwide, the largest advertising agency in Korea, is stepping up efforts to secure new product placement technologies in bid to gain a larger share in the fast-growing product placement market which is growing by about 20 percent per year.
The ad agency announced on August 18 that it formed a partnership with Britain’s digital advertising firm Mirriad to secure an exclusive right to use the latter’s digital product placement solution in Korea.
The solution is a new technology that inserts product placement elements into pre-made videos by using computer graphic technology. After advertisers select the video they like and determine on exposure type, hours, and advertising size, the products and brands concerned are inserted into the video by using computer graphic technology.
Cheil Worldwide also acquired the right to use all of the video contents it makes by using the digital product placement solution in China.
