E-Land plans to run a global coffee brand “Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf” in China. E-Land Group announced on August 24 that it signed a deal with Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and acquired the right to do business in China.
Coffee Bean, which opened its first store in California in 1963, is one of the longest unlisted coffee and tea brands in the United States. At present, it runs a total of 1,000 locations in 30 countries, including the United States and Germany.
An E-Land official said, “The interest of Coffee Bean hoping to expand its presence in China which is emerging as a huge coffee market matched well with that of E-Land China which launched its own food & beverage business in China.”
Within the next few years, E-Land plans to open and operate about 1,000 Coffee Bean shops, including some large ones with a floor space of more than 700 square meters, throughout major cities and regions of China.
Jeff Schroeder, CEO of Coffee Bean in America, said, “We are pleased to have the opportunity of launching into China’s fast-growing coffee market. We expect our partnership with E-Land to lead to a great success since E-Land has abundant retail experience and know-how there.”
