Korea’s mobile game market size is forecast to reach 3 trillion won this year and nine out of ten smartphone holders turn out to enjoy mobile games.
According to a survey conducted by NBT mobile lock screen app Cash Slide with 1,202 smartphone users aged between 20s and 40s, 93.8 percent of them answered that they enjoy playing mobile games.
Of these, 62.3 percent of the respondents said that they used to play more than two mobile games while 37.4 percent of the respondents said they like puzzle games most, followed by role playing games with 31.6 percent, strategy simulation games with 17.8 percent, social network games with 15.6 percent, board games with 9.7 percent, and sports game with 8.1 percent.
There is a gender difference in preference for mobile game types. Of the male respondents, 50.3 percent said their favorite mobile games are role playing genre, while a majority of female respondents (56.7%) said they like puzzle games most.
