
CEO Han Sang-ho of Hyundai Elevator has received the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, the highest industrial decoration.
Since Han Sang-ho, armed with 20 years' experience in the elevator industry, took office as CEO, Hyundai Elevator has seen its sales and operating profit skyrocketing 145 percent and 482 percent, respectively.
By implementing a productivity innovation project called ‘3BY3 Movement’, CEO Han has successfully jacked up labor productivity and gross output by 44 percent and 41 percent, respectively.
Above all, CEO Han is one of the biggest contributors to the government’s job creation policy, the centerpiece of the creative economy initiative. Despite the global financial crisis, Hyundai Elevator has achieved an employment growth of 152.5 percent over the past 5 years, therefore making the 2014 Top 100 Job Creators list.
CEO Han is also creditted with advancing the Korean elevator industry through SME-conglomerate win-win programs.
Since Hyundai Elevator struck agreements with 260 contractors in 2013, it has been running various win-win growth programs, such as the ‘creation of shared growth funds,’ ‘Management Doctor System’ (designed to address contractors’ management challenges and strengthen their competitiveness) and the establishment of a technology education center (focused on talent nurturing for SMEs and post-training job placement).
