Kia Motors and Hyundai Motor ranked relatively low at No. 14 and No. 15 in the 2015 German Vehicle Durability Test conducted by market research firm JD Power.

According to JD Power’s website on September 22, the survey was conducted with the consumers who purchased new vehicles 12-36 months ago, to investigate 177 specific problem symptoms grouped into eight major vehicle categories, including engine, transmission, exterior, interior, driving experience, spec and display, audio/telecom/entertainment/navigation, seat, and air-conditioning system. The durability quality is measured by the number of problems occurred per 100 units.

Japan’s Mazda achieved the highest score, with 87 problems being reported per 100 units, followed by Mitsubishi with 90, Skoda with 93, Dacia with 96, Toyota with 98, Suzuki with 102, Nissan with 103, Mini with 104, Porsche with 106, and Seat with 111. Kia Motors ranked No. 14 with 121, and Hyundai Motor No. 15 with 122.
