LG Electronics has been installing OLED TVs at major airports in 23 nations around the world. “Thirty-nine major airports in 23 nations, including at JFK Airport in New York, Frankfurt Airport in Germany and Sheremetyevo International Airport in Russia, are being decked out in LG OLED TVs,” said LG Electronics on September 25.
LG Electronics plans to complete the installation of nearly 200 OLED TVs at 39 airports, including eights airports in S. Korea, by the end of next month.
LG will set up TVs intensively at areas near boarding gates and VIP lounges where travelers hang around for a relatively long time.
“We will make sure that airport users get a first-hand look at the innovative design of LG’s ultra slim (5mm) TVs from various angles (front, side, rear),” LG said.
LG OLED TVs produce light by themselves without a backlight, so they sport a dark black rimless screen without a bezel, which LCD TVs couldn’t offer. LG OLED TVs can reproduce a wider range of vivid colors in an accurate manner.
Display experts at US-based DisplayMate have recently said that “LG’s OLED TV is the best TV we have ever seen.”
