Hyundai Motor Company planning to lead the green car market with hydrogen vehicles is set to build Korea-U.S. hydrogen vehicle infrastructure in partnership with the U.S. energy government.

Hyundai Motor's president Jung Jin-haeng met Thursday with David Danielson, who leads the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, to discuss how to collaborate for the energy vehicles.

They reportedly discussed how to expand the demonstration projects of Tucson's hydrogen vehicles and related infrastructure.

"Hyundai has taken part in a demonstration project of its energy cars organized by the U.S. energy government since 2004. It is currently participating in the Korea-U.S. joint project demonstrating endurance and performance of the firm's hydrogen fuel cars," the company's official said.

Tucson's hydrogen fuel cars topped the "Top 10 engine in 2015” list, published by the U.S. auto research firm Ward's Auto.
