Hanwha Techwin, one of the largest safety and energy solution providers in South Korea, said Monday that it has launched “the VPM Series,” a CCTV camera solution developed specially for nurseries. The VPM Series is the first CCTV camera solution in the nation that can verify whether the file is still in its unadulterated original form.
Hanwha Techwin’s VPM Series is comprised of VPM (Video Privacy Management)-based video recorders (VPM-4400, 5400, 6400) and four 2-megapixel CCTV cameras (VPM-4040DR, 4040OR, 4020DR, 4020OR).
The VPM technology enables monitoring any ill-intentioned attempt to manipulate video images that can occur in the process of operating and managing CCTV cameras. Everything from viewing, copying and deleting video footage to manipulating the angle of coverage and real-time access from the outside is recorded, managed and monitored. Thus, invasions of privacy caused by leaked video footage can be nipped in the bud.
In particular, the VPM technology features a cryptographic hash function, designed to detect deliberate alterations, to ensure data integrity, so it foils attempts to delete or tamper with CCTV video files.
