Shinhan Bank said on Thursday it opened its Manila branch office located in Bonifacio Global City in the Philippines, the bank’s 78th overseas office.
The Manila office is set to offer diverse financial services for Korean citizens and companies as well as local and multinational firms located in the city.
Shinhan's chief Cho Yong-byoung and the Philippine's central bank governor Amando Maglalang Tetangco and the financial ministry Cesar V. Purisima attended the opening ceremony.
The central bank governor said, "I was deeply impressed with Shinhan's corporate value 'Warm financing with the future,'" adding, "As the company’s slogan also matches the central bank's value 'Financial Inclusion,' we are looking forward to Shinhan's performance here."
The financial minister said, "Since South Korea's leading bank opens its office in the Philippines, this will be an opportunity to accelerate the two nations' economic, trade and cultural exchange."
Shinhan's Manila office has strengthened its "Asian financial belt" which connects key Southeast Asian financial markets including the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Myanmar and India.
