Doosan Heavy Industries announced on November 10 that its annual order booking volume is likely to pass the 10-trillion-won mark this year, thanks to a string of 1,000-megawatt thermal power plant equipment orders. This would be the first time in four years for Doosan’s annual order volume to surpass 10 trillion won.

A day ago, Doosan was selected as a preferred bidder for the supply of main equipment such as boilers and turbines for a 1,000-megawatt POS Power thermal power plant in Samcheok in eastern Gangwon Province.

On the same day, the company signed a turbine supply deal with Korea Midland Power Co.’s 1,000-megawatt-class Shin-Seocheon thermal power plant. The value of this deal is 104.4 billion won.

In addition, Doosan is also in talks to supply main equipment for 1,000-megawatt Shin-Samcheonpo power plant. A Doosan official said, “We expect this year’s total 1,000-megawatt thermal power plant-related orders to reach 1.5 trillion won.”
