Hyundai Group on November 9 reaffirmed that there had been neither recommendation nor notification regarding a merger deal between its logistics affiliate Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and Hanjin Shipping, South Korea's largest shipping line.
“As Hyundai Merchant Marine mentioned in its public announcement on October 28, we once again make it clear that there has been neither recommendation nor notification regarding a merger deal between HMM and Hanjin Shipping,” an official from Hyundai Group said.
“Ungrounded press reports are inflicting damage on our global operations, Alliance members, shippers, as well as our shareholders. Please be extra careful with your coverage of this story,” the official added.
