The Global Mobile Vision 2009 was held in COEX International Hotel on Nov 10, 2009. The various global telecommunication leaders attended the forum. The opening ceremony started with a moderator's warm welcome.

Lee Han-chul, senior executive vice president of KOTRA, started with his opening speech. "The GMV 2009 is a 3 day forum with unique and valuable opportunities for global telecommunication leaders to meet Korea's cutting edge technology. They can also network with Korean vendors through the wireless convergence forum and global mobile business forum," he said. "Smart phones, mobile broadband, and open platforms with various applications are trends for a new wireless environment. Korean mobile companies are stepping ahead of competitions and setting milestones of networking. Global companies should take advantage of GMV 2009 to find partners and investment opportunities."

After the opening speech, Choi hyung-jin, the president of the Korea Information and Communication Society (KICS), made a welcoming speech. He said, "Korea is leading country in next generation communication system. Wibro and LTE are the next generation communication standard. Korea has launched the Wibro service on June 2006, and also the services like DMB and IPTV are growing fast in Korea. At the Wireless Broadband forum 2009, world famous leader in the business will discuss about the future trend. Korea is a leader in IT and service. The forum will provide the vision of future in wireless broadband."

Jeon Sang-hwon finished the opening session with his last speech. "According to Bank of Korea, mobile products take 8.2% of total export of Korea. Along with automobiles, semiconductors, shipbuilding business, it became one of the most significant global businesses for Korea. Despite of financial crisis, Korean electronic companies launched various products and took over 30% of global market in 2Q of 2009. It is a valuable opportunity to share helpful information, such as 4G broadband convergence technology with immerging telecommunication companies.
