The Incheon International Airport posted a record 49.2 million passengers last year, according to the Incheon International Airport Corporation.
The corporation said, "The number of passengers last year stood at 49.2 million won, the highest figure since the airport opened in 2001, and an 8.3 percent rise from the previous year.”
The amount of air cargo posted 2.5 million tons last year, a 1.5 percent increase from last year. The number of transfer passengers stood at 7.6 million, a rise of 5.5 percent from the previous year.
The corporation said the number of transfer passengers from European routes nudged down due to IS terror but the transfer passengers from Japan, China and Oceania rose, pulling the overall growth.
