Founded in 1981, Daebo Group has continued to grow in the construction, distribution, information & communications and leisure sectors. In 2013, Daebo Group, comprised of Daebo Engineering and Construction, Daebo Distribution, Daebo Communications & Systems and Seowon Valley Country Club, had broke the one trillion won mark in group-wide sales, making its presence felt across corporate Korea.

Daebo Engineering & Construction (E&C) specializes in public-sector road and housing construction. Daebo E&C, which ranked 54th in construction capability last year, has maintained a sustainable and solid business structure, based on its zero-debt policy.

Building on its knowhow obtained through the construction of LH and SH apartment buildings with 15,000 housing units, Daebo E&C has developed its own apartment brand “hausD,” which seeks differentiation in building exterior designs, landscaping and lighting systems.

Daebo E&C is also planning to press ahead with environmental projects, taking advantage of its technology designed to reduce combustible construction waste and convert it into fuel, which was certified as a new, green technology by the Ministry of Environment of South Korea.

Daebo Communications & Systems has been maintaining sustainable levels of revenues and sales in the IT services market. Since its inception, it has been solely committed to the ITS (intelligent transportation system) market, therefore securing its competency in the cutting-edge transportation sector.

Above all, since Daebo Communications & Systems was privatized in 2002, it has expanded into the business of maintaining transportation infrastructure, such as national highways, tunnels, Incheon International Airport and railroads. Also, it has set up transportation systems such as the Hi-Pass electronic toll collection system.

It has recently ventured into the public SI (system integration) sector as part of its endeavors for diversification. As a result, Daebo Communications & Systems has raised its sales from 20 billion won to a bumper 100 billion won just in five years.

Among8,000 information and communications companies nationwide, Daebo Communications & Systems has ranked 4th in a row, firmly establishing itself as a total ICT company.

Daebo Distribution, which is running a total of 36 large highway rest facilities outfitted with gas stations, is the company that led the nationwide trend of upgrading shabby, dull highway service areas and toilets into “hotel-like” places.

As so many companies and public institutions benchmarked their business against Daebo Distribution, South Korea’s toilet culture went through a complete “makeover, rapidly going upscale.

In 2014, Daebo Distribution opened a car wash at Hwaseong SA, located along the Seohaean (west coast) Expressway, making Hwaseong SA the nation’s first highway service area equipped with an auto wash. In 2015, Daebo Distribution has been selected as the preferred bidder to develop the Seohaean Expressway’s Maesong truck parking and service area.

Seowon Valley Country Club, one of South Korea’s top 10 golf courses, is famous for offering top-notch services to golfers. It has been included in the nation’s 10 most beautiful golf courses for seven consecutive years since 2003. The combination of its beautiful landscape and excellent services has made Seowon Valley Country Club a great success.

To top it off, Seowon Valley Country Club has been holding a charity concert called ‘Green Concert,’ which marked its 13th anniversary last year. Since the concert began in 2000, Green Concert has drawn over 280,000 visitors with an average 38,000 a day. Enjoying positive responses from the industry, golfers and local residents, Green Concert has become a cultural icon that represents Seowon Valley Country Club.
