The world's largest on-demand Internet streaming media service company Netflix will move into Korea.

Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix, said on January 6 in the CES 2016 held in Las Vegas that it newly launched services in 130 national markets including Korea's. With this move, the company has operations in more than 190 countries.

He said, "You will witness the birth of a new global Internet TV network. With the latest expansion, customers from Singapore to St. Petersburg and from San Francisco to Sao Paulo will be able to enjoy Netflix TV programs and movies in the comfort of their home without waiting."

With a flat monthly rate, subscribers can watch popular TV dramas, shows, and movies, as well as its own original programming. In the new markets, three more new languages including Korean, Chinese, and Arabic will be provided in addition to 12 languages including English.

Launched in 2007, Netflix began expanding toward overseas markets including Canada, Latin America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan
