
GM Korea said on Sunday its Chevrolet “The Next Spark” carried out pilot tests of driving 1 million kilometers in the extreme natural environment.
The Next Spark, which was developed after a six-year development, carried out performance and driving tests for thousands of hours in various nations including the U.S., Canada, China and South Korea.
The new car, made mainly under the leadership of GM Korea Technology Research Center, underwent diverse tests including NVH, wind tunnel test and running performance test in a bid to satisfy safety standards in various countries.
The Next Spark completed tests in China's Heihe, where temperature dips as low as 40 degrees below zero, Kapuskasing test site in Canada's Ontario and Death Valley in California to test the cars in the extreme environment.
