Shanghai - Pocons Co., Ltd. is specializing in producing and providing innovative components for cell phones, which is not the shield can frame, the shield can clip. This is second time for Pocons participating in AEES 2009 and they are seeking cell phone manufacturers in Shanghai. The company holds a large number of domestic and overseas patents and certificates. "You probably do not understand why we have so many domestic and overseas patents and certificates. Even me, I was quite surprised and very much satisfied with this small innovative piece the first time because there was no such small tiny clip working on a shield can before," Kim Jong-pil, director of Pocons Co., Ltd. said.
"There were some of buyers including cell phone manufacturers who visited our booth today. In case of major cell phone manufacturing companies, we prefer direct business but in case of small and medium sized companies, we usually deal with them via our branch offices. For example, there was a buyer who came from Lenovo mobile in Shanghai and asked us a sample for new product. So I gave him information of contact person in our branch office in Shanghai," Kim said.
These tiny shield can clips increase production and reduce maintenance time
"It might need for me to explain about our product to make you understand. Previously, shield cans inside of cell phone were soldered directly onto a circuit board, or a frame was manufactured to fit in the shape of the can. But we developed this shield can clip to make it easier to install shield cans automatically. As this tiny clip is being used instead of can frame that looks sort of square box, it makes much easier utilization of space on the circuit board and results in a 30% increase in production productivity. After the shield cans are mounted with the clip, they can also be easily removed which reduces maintenance effort and repair time," Kim said.
"This is reason why all the cell phone manufacturers are interested in our products. In domestic market, all of cell phone manufacturers already use shield can clips in their production but overseas manufacturers still use shield can frames instead of clips. There are some of can clip manufacturing companies in USA and Japan but they only produce small amount of products. At the same time, there are a lot of cell phone manufacturers and design companies in Shanghai but no shield can clip manufacturers here. Our shield can clips, therefore, are cost competitive."
