A third quarter report of the world's OLED market shows that SMD (Samsung's Mobile Display) owns about 73 percent of the world's OLED market shares. This is an amazing breakthrough, and it appears that they are conquering the OLED market. In the 3 third quarter of this year, SMD recorded sales of 172 million US dollars, while the world's market raked in a total of about US$235 million.
SMD was able to surpass 70 percent of the world's market shares, which means it single-handedly raised the world's market share percentage by almost 10 percent. Last quarter's sales recorded market shares of 64.7 percent and recorded sales of about US$1.02 million.
SMD's popular items were the 3.5 generation OLED products which raised the standard for all OLED products. These included three inch cell phone panels as well as 14 inch OLED TV panels which were both quite popular. With this continuing success, it is said that SMD sells about 22,000 of their OLED products monthly.
