According to Kotra, on December 20, GS Engineering and Construction contracted an agreement with Oman National Oil Corporation about a construction project that was signed on December 13.

The scale of the project will be about US$280 million and other famous global top 20 construction companies from countries such as the United Kingdom, Greece, and Italy will also participate in this project

KOTRA explained that GS Engineering and Construction has already accomplished large scale constructions in Oman. Soharr Arometics factory has about a US$1.2 billion scale while Salala methanol factory has about a US$700 million dollar scale. Furthermore they are preparing to receive more projects from Oman. The current project is a US$1.8 billion construction project. The construction progress will include a system with fresh water and a sewage plant.

Daewoo Engineering Company also succeeded in receiving an order from Oman on November 27. This was the first time that a Korean construction company has received an order from Oman. The scale of the project is said to be about US$17 million.

Kim Dong-hyun, President of Muscat KBC Center said, "Oman will order various construction projects consistently during the next 3 or 4 years because the Oman government has a strong strategy for the development of their nation."

Additional orders will be increased by the first half of next year because Korea's construction company will get a high score from Oman."
