Korean FinTech Center signed MoU for collaboration with the Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone

Beijing China, December 22/ Korea IT Times-- Chairman, Jung Yoo-shin of the South Korean FinTech Center held the FinTech Demo Day in Beijing China
The event was a part of Demo Days in overseas held to support advancement of Korean outstanding FinTech companies to overseas market, and it was the 5th event following them in Shanghai(Dec. 2015), Singapore·Cambodia(Jun. 2016), London(Jul. 2016) and Silicon Valley(Nov. 2016).

Especially, to raise overseas investment opportunities and promotion effect, this event was held in connection with the 'K-Global China (Dec. 21~Dec. 22).‘
The K-Global China has hosted by Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and KOTRA, NIPA.
This events hits on Korea-China Information Communication Technology Forum, Start-up IR, Export Counselling and FinTech Demo Day
The participants are around 300 including Korean start-up's, local business and investors

On today's FinTech demo day, the FinTech Center and the Goshen District, Chengdu City Management Committee and 5 technology firms that presented of FinTech has signed each MoU after were held 1:1 investment counselling

The most important event was MoU signing of the FinTech Center

The FinTech Center signed an MoU with China's Chengdu city Goshen district (short name for a cutting-edge development complex, Goshen Technology and Industry Development District) management committee to strengthen the cooperation in FinTech area

The China's Chengdu city Goshen district is an area 130 km2, Mecca of Chinese Start-up's including China·Korea Innovation Complex·Technology Changshin Service Center

There are total of more than 60 thousand companies in Goshen District, Chengdu, and 26 out of them are listed and 680 of them are recognized with cutting-edge technologies by the country.

The Chengdu Goshen district management committee have established and been operating the technology Changsin Service Center since 1996 to promote the cutting-edge industry of China

It provides space to start a business and networking with supporting companies, and as of today, it has nurtured more than 7,500 start-up's

Currently, the Chinese Government is pursuing the establishment of 'Chengdu Free Trade Model District among its plans to promote business establishments in each area

The Chinese government selected 7 Free Trade model districts in september, 2016 including Sichuan province and Hunan province. Chengdu is a major point of the Sichuan province Free Trade model district and it is planned to be built as a start-up concentrated area combining global innovative elements

With this MoU, the FinTech center introduced Korea's outstanding FinTech start-up's to the Chengdu Goshen District Management Committee,and the Chengdu Goshen district Management Committee provided space to start businesses and networking with supporting companies for Korean FinTech start-up's, and it plans to actively support them to start businesses in China.

With the signing of this MoU, we prepared a bridgehead of cooperation in FinTech area in China following UK, Australia, France, Singapore and the USA.

Promising FinTech Companies' Technology Introduction·Presentation

5 FinTech companies set up their own booths at the China World Hotel Conference Hall and presented their technologies and had investment counselling with local investors and interested companies.

In the day's event, local venture capitals and investors showed active interests to Korean FinTech technologies, and they had a time to build networks with participating FinTech companies.
