
The Ministry of Environment's core duty this year is to significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions and to create a greener environment. The Environmental Protection agency actively carried out the 'Clean Air Act'. According to the New Year's plan by the Ministry of Environment the ministry will measure, report, and verify the greenhouse gas emissions to secure the ministry's transparency and credibility which will follow Japan and Australia.
To consolidate further this plan, the ministry will set specific goals and various methods on cutting carbon emissions through a step-by-step procedure, dividing corporation, transportation and home sectors to assign individual regulations. Together with this, the metropolitan council's act to curtail carbon emission will begin from August of next year.
On top of that, the Tradable Pollution Permit will take, effect from next year and the government will place incentives and additional tax on all vehicles according to their carbon emission level. Moreover, the government will attract consumers to purchase small to compact cars. Through energy plant species and purchasing land, the ministry will utilize the land as a biomass energy resource. The campaign will run under the title 'Me First' to send the message of cutting down on carbon gas emissions.
