
Samsung and LG Electronics, have sent their New Year’s message that pinpoints on change and innovation. LG's New Year's address boils down to 'change, future, and creativity'. The president of LG, Koo Bon-Moo, stated that LG must take the lead in change and their company cannot chase after the change, but rather become the leading mechanism for change and this is the only way for the LG to be on the top as a global leader. In order for LG to be ahead of the game is by developing pioneering technology that will be effective for the forthcoming years. Moreover, President Koo continued to say that their company will encourage creativity and freedom within LG members to excavate every single talent and skill that will bear the best items in Korea and elsewhere.

Samsung Electronics, Samsung's underlying subsidiary, suggested 'customer appeal, convergence, and competitive contents' as their primary goal to top the list for the best Electronics group. Samsung Electronics CEO, Choi Ji-Sung, claimed on January fourth during the New Year's kick-off meeting that the company will put emphasis on providing the best products to their customers and earn trust of their primary customers, altogether demonstrated his firm confidence on the future of Samsung Electronics in the world market. In this connection, Samsung Electronics will not only focus on the customers who purchase their cell phones and home appliances, but also their corporate customers who procure their semiconductor and LCD components. All things considered Samsung Electronics will top the list for digital TV and cell phone on the basis of convergence strategy and to gain a toehold in being the top for computer, printer, LSI system, home appliance, network, and digital imaging. Mr. Choi added that this year should be the first year to look out of the next 100 years to fulfill all goals and called upon attention on health, environment, life care and other developing sectors with the former infotainment, to become the two prominent axes for Samsung Electronics.
