
On January 6, 2010, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced that KOTRA and about 70 Korean companies including Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will participate in International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). CES 2010 is held in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. from January 7, 2010 to January 10.
About 2,500 enterprises made up of 140 countries from around the world will participate in this International CES and the number of visitors will reach over 110,000, so CES 2010 will be the best event. CES is showing the trends of global electronic products in reality and in name.
Last November, CEA choose the innovative products that will be showcasing at CES 2010 from 36 groups. For example, Samsung Electronics is showcasing products such as cameras, ovens and cell phones. Which were selected as innovative products in the area of digital imaging, eco-design and wireless handsets; CEA also selected SK and LG too.
Among the small and medium enterprises, SLIMDISK Co. was selected at the potable multiplayer area and Kwang Sung Electronics was selected at the video accessory area.
A head of KOTRA LA Korea Business Center, Kim Sang-chul stated, "CES 2010 will be a bruising battleground where global companies will fiercely compete with one another to secure a favorable position in the U.S. consumer electronics market, which has a high recovery possibility."He also went onto say, "We expect that small and medium enterprises products which have reasonable prices and innovative ideas will capture taste of global buyers, riding on image of Korean big business which is leading a global market by cutting-edge technology."
