The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a multi-media electronics goods show. That is held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over 100, 000 attendees from 130 nations have made this year event a great turn out. There are numerous new products and innovative technologies, expected to drive each industry forward, and introduced on a large scale.

CES is considered one of the most important technology-related trade shows because of ground-breaking products and some companies are making their first debut. Cases in point are camcorders, DVDs, and HDTVs, which have transformed the industry landscape after making their debut at the show. Major electronics makers have showcased a variety of state-of-the-art products, offering a rare opportunity to get a glimpse of the overall trend of the global electronics, telecommunications and IT industries.

The first CES was held in June 1967 in New York, with 17,500 people in attendance. Since then, the trade show has grown significantly into an international event with a large-scale exhibition, eight times the size of the first CES. Those on display include a legion of home appliances and IT products, ranging from audios, videos, computers, hardware, software, satellite receivers, home networks, and mobile gadgets to MP3 players.

South Korean companies have made their presence felt at the show since the 1990's however, the first South Korean Pavilion was in 2000. Since then, the Korean Pavilion and stand-alone booths have been catering to more than 100 Korean companies boasting their advanced technologies.

The 2010 international CES is scheduled to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and The Venetian, for four days from January 7 to January 10. About 2500 companies will set up their booths and of whom 300 companies are making their first debut.
