SeouLin Bioscience Inc., specialized in bio-technology, has succeeded in developing bio-devices using domestic technologies. The research was conducted with the affiliated company, Micro Digital Ltd., to develop a microplate luminometer named Luminescence Unit with Bejeweled Instrument (LuBi). The microplate luminometer is device to measure specific gene assays for analysis by collecting bioluminescence caused by enzymes. The device is required to measure the gene expression.
Hwang Eul-moon, the CEO of SeouLin Bioscience said, “We analyzed the market trend and provided a product idea to our affiliated company who specializes in manufacturing technology. With our joint contribution, we were able to succeed in producing a new device." He went on to say, “Based on our Connect and Development (C&D ) strategy, we will commercialize more bio-technology devices using domestic technology through partnership and affiliation.
SeouLin Bioscience has an exclusive right to sell and distribute LuBi and plans to export it overseas in 2011. LuBi uses a 96-well plate which has a capacity to measure a large amount of bioluminescence with high accuracy. Also, the enzyme dispenser system is installed to minimize testing errors.”
