The Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) has emphasized once again to minimize the industrial responsibility in the process of reducing Greenhouse Gas. The MKE is in the process of devising a master plan regarding to the matter of Greenhouse Gas Reduction. And setting a policy to encourage each company's urgent participation is the first obstacle that the government must face.
Jin Hong, the policy maker of Climate Change and Energy stated, "We urge the industries to be actively involved in our project and share each step with us in the process of devising ‘Greenhouse Gas Reduction Master Plan.’ Jin Hong continues to say, "We must consider the overall effects of utility fees and water bills when it comes to the restriction of Electric Power Industry."
Korea's electric power consumption has continuously been increasing despite the government's attempt to expand the supply channel of new renewable energy. Korea is challenged to provide greenhouse gas reduction technology such as CCS.
The MKE will start to relay conferences with different industries beginning January 18, striving to overcome every difficulty Korea faces to enable Greenhouse Gas Reduction.
