LG Electronics’ portable projector, the "Minibeam TV," maintained the No. 1 spot in the global LED projector market.
U.S.-based market research firm PMA (Pacific Media Associates) Research said on March 13 that LG last year ranked first in sales in the global LED projector market for the 6th consecutive year.
Though the LED projector market has been sluggish, sales of LG’s "Minibeam TV" projector has continued to increase. Sales more than doubled from 5 years ago.
In the Korean market, the average monthly sales exceeded 5,000 units this year, up 40% from last year’s average monthly sales.
Since LG launched the Minibeam TV for the first time in 2008, LG has been taking the lead in the projector market. Sales have continued to grow as LG continuously upgraded the LG Minibeam TV by factoring in changing consumer needs.
An LG official said, “We will maintain the growth momentum by releasing new products this year, such as the Minibeam TV with a brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens and the LG ProBeam TV, a Full HD home theater laser projector.”
