Zhou Yong Lin, a vice director of the operation department of the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), was interviewed on January 22 by Xinhua News Agency. He said, "After the Google issue, CNCERT has examined the Chinese Internet infrastructure, but we have not received any concrete reports to prove that Google was attacked by Chinese hackers, yet."
Zhou Yong Lin said, "China has already become the worst victim of online attacks. Online safety is directly connected to the national security, social evolution, and Chinese netizens' interest. That is why the government should put stress on Internet security, but also on the business sector and the public should keep watch. It is a really important matter for everyone and to our benefit."
He warned, "China has a lack of sense for online safety, and we use operating systems and software with flaws. These factors make China an easy target for attacks by hackers."
