Despite China's firm and repeated opposition, U.S. President Barack Obama met with the Dalai Lama in Washington on Thursday. Several American presidents have met the Dalai Lama, but this meeting was under different circumstances. China's power has grown bigger and stronger, which has led to other foreign countries to be concerned about the affection of this meeting.

Sankei Simbun, a daily newspaper in Tokyo, Japan, analyzed and stressed the relations between America and China has entered a stable stage. However, it seems obvious the Sino-American relations will be affected by the U.S.; selling weapons to Taiwan, supporting Google against Chinese censorship, and meeting the spiritual leader of Tibet.

Analysts are worried that this meeting will further escalate tension between the Tibetans and the Chinese government. Also, no matter what the meeting was about, it will cause problems for the G2.
