Reuters and Ipsos surveyed 23 countries to figure out how important money is. The result shows Citizens of South Korea, Japan and China were the most likely to say money meant more to them with 84 percent in each putting more value on cash.

It seems that the results reflect Korea’s, Japan’s and China’s social climate. These three countries share a similar cultural base, and the national’s lay great stress on each other’s view. Thus, the people in these countries were also more likely to believe that money was the best sign of a person's success.
