
Manhattan, New York - March 9, 2010, Samsung Electronics announced its global launching of the world's first full HD 3D LED TV in a press meeting held in the Samsung Experience exhibition hall located in Times Square.
Samsung full HD 3D LED TV could be described as a series of historical developments that marks a new era in the TV industry such as the change from black and white to color TVs. Thus, at this global launching ceremony there where many companies showing their interest in 3D TVs such as DreamWorks Animation and the Avatar moviemaking team.
Yoon Boo-keun, President of Visual Display Business Unit at Samsung Electronics, Avatar director James Cameron and 3D photography director Vince Pace joined the event. The Times Squares surprise performance by The Black Eyed Peas kicked off Samsung Electronics' global campaign to raise awareness for its 3D TV technology leadership, which also includes worldwide launch events and a global television advertising campaign.
In the event, Samsung Electronics and DreamWorks Animation reinforced their partnership by featuring an exclusive offering of the company's beloved Shrek film series in 3D for the first time. Furthermore, Samsung unveiled its 3D Cube, a mega screen display composed of LED 7000 Series 3D LED TVs outside the Samsung Experience in New York City.
