SEOUL, Mar. 15, 2010 - LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, brings more fun and creativity to its touchscreen phones with two new devices -- LG Cookie Plus (LG GS500) and LG Cookie Fresh (LG GS290) -- to its popular Cookie Series.
The new phones follow their predecessor, LG Cookie, which sold over 13 million units worldwide by offering an exciting full touchscreen experience with social networks, mobile applications and advanced graphics.
With smart social network service (SNS) connectivity and other unique features such as LiveSquareTM, LG Cookie Series allows users to keep in touch with online friends more easily by offering a visually dynamic interactive experience.
What's more, LG Cookie Series boosts the fun, cartoon-styled UI with colorful theme options and supports downloadable applications including The New York Times, eBay Search, Amazon Search and Fox News for a more enjoyable user experience.
"LG Cookie Series reflects our effort to bring creativity and fun to the mobile touchphone experience," said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "LG Cookie Plus and LG Cookie Fresh offer various features to suit different tastes while maintaining the core features of the original LG Cookie phone."
LG Cookie Plus (LG GS500), centered on social connectivity, is a 3G handset suited for a powerful but friendly networking experience. It also supports downloading and running applications, real-time push e-mail and web browsing.
For those craving a new look, LG Cookie Fresh (LG GS290) boasts a distinctive design with a splash of imagination and personality. This handset offers the features found in the original Cookie but comes in a sleek and smooth package and soft outer grip as well as in 16 bold color variations.
LG Cookie Plus (LG GS500) will be available worldwide this month after making its debut in France and Italy. LG Cookie Fresh (LG GS290) will be available in over 60 countries following its introduction in Germany and Russia. Prices will be announced separately in each market.
