A render of what the Green IT World section looks like at CeBIT 2009International ICT decision makers demand more information about green IT from producers and suppliers. This was a result of the current CeBIT TrendCheck carried out among more than 8,000 international experts. Sixty-nine percent of the interviewees stated that the information on green IT is not yet enough for investment decisions. Only every fifth respondent feels well informed at the moment. The CeBIT TrendCheck also showed that 74 percent of all people interviewed were not made aware of the topic green IT until the CeBIT 2008. Energy efficiency and environmental protection are becoming ever more relevant purchase criteria for international ICT decision makers.

The green IT World at the CeBIT 2009 will additionally be supported by the German Federal Government. It will take place under the patronage of the Federal Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel.
